Bitcall on Grandstream Wave (iOS & Android)

Learn how to set up your Bitcall SIP account on the Grandstream Wave app for mobile devices. Includes clear steps

Let’s make your first call in just a few minutes.


📦 What You’ll Need

  • A working SIP account (SIP credentials or IP-auth)

  • The Grandstream Wave app (iOS or Android)


📱 Section 1: Setup on

Android

  1. Download the app

  2. Open the app → Tap the “+” icon to add a new account

  3. Select SIP Account → Choose “Manual Configuration”

  4. Fill out the following fields:

Optional (e.g. “Bitcall Line 1”)

  1. Tap Save → Go back to the home screen

    You should see a green phone icon or “Registered” status.

📱 Section 2: Setup on

iOS (iPhone)

  1. Install the app

  2. Open the app → Go to Settings → Accounts → + → SIP Account

  3. Choose Manual Configuration

  4. Enter the same SIP details as Android:

Account Name: Bitcall SIP Server: gateway.bitcall.io SIP User ID: your-bitcall-username Auth ID: your-bitcall-username Password: your-SIP-password Transport Protocol: UDP (or TCP/TLS) Port: 5060

  1. Tap Save → You should see Registered ✅ in a few seconds


🔐 Using IP Authentication?

If you’re using Trusted IP instead of credentials, here’s how:

⚠️ IP-auth setups don’t show a “Registered” status but will work if your IP is whitelisted in Bitcall.


☎️ Making Your First Call

  1. From the dial pad, enter a number like:

+12025550123

  1. Tap the green dial button

🛠️ Common Issues & Fixes

Issue

Fix

Not registering

Check username, password, and domain spelling

IP-auth failing

Ensure your IP is added inside the Bitcall dashboard

No audio

Try enabling STUN in the app settings

Call drops after 5 sec

Likely NAT issue — enable “Keep Alive” or test other transports

Green icon doesn’t show

Check SIP Server or try 188.34.143.144 directly

Grandstream Wave is mobile-only. For desktop, we recommend:

🔒 Bonus Tip: Encrypt Your Calls

Under the Security tab in Grandstream settings, you can enable:

  • SRTP for encrypted audio

  • TLS for encrypted signaling

Great for privacy-focused users or sensitive VoIP deployments.
