Set Up Bitcall in Linphone (Android, iOS & Desktop)

Use this guide to set up Bitcall with Linphone a free SIP softphone for iOS, Android, and Windows. Works with credentials or Trusted IP

Let’s get your Bitcall account working on it.


🔸 What You Need

  • A SIP account (with credentials or IP-auth)

  • Linphone installed on your device (mobile or desktop)


📱 Section 1: Linphone on

Android

  1. Install Linphone

  2. Open the app → Skip account creation

    Tap “Use SIP account”

  3. Enter your SIP details:

Username: your-bitcall-username Password: your-SIP-password Domain: gateway.bitcall.io

  1. Click Next, then Finish

  2. You should now see a green “Registered” badge at the top.

📱 Section 2: Linphone on

iOS (iPhone)

  1. Install Linphone

  2. Open the app → Skip cloud account → Select “Use SIP Account”

  3. Enter your Bitcall SIP info:

SIP Address: sip:[email protected] Username: your-bitcall-username Password: your-SIP-password

  1. Tap Done, wait a second… boom! Green “Registered” status shows.

🖥️ Section 3: Linphone on

Windows/macOS

  1. Download Linphone Desktop

  2. Launch it → Skip account creation → Click Use SIP Account

  3. Fill out the SIP settings:

SIP Identity: sip:[email protected] Username: your-bitcall-username Password: your-SIP-password SIP Server: gateway.bitcall.io

  1. Under Proxy Settings:

    • Transport: UDP (or TCP/TLS if needed)

    • Enable “Register at startup”

  2. Click Save and look for the green ✅ “Registered” at the bottom.

🔐 Using IP Authentication with Linphone?

If you’re using IP authentication, here’s what to do:

⚠️ IP-auth setups won’t show “Registered” but will work as long as your IP is correct and the trunk is active.


🛠️ Common Issues & Fixes

Problem

Fix

“Registration Failed”

Check your SIP username, password, domain

Green check doesn’t appear

Try switching from TCP to UDP

Audio but no connection

Enable STUN or ICE in Linphone settings

IP-auth calls not working

Double-check your IP is correctly set in Bitcall panel

Getting echo/delay

Disable video + try different codec settings
