“A SIP account is like your phone number… but way cooler, customizable, and doesn’t come with hidden fees.”

Let’s set one up step by step!

🧰 What You’ll Need

Before you start:

  • A Bitcall accountpanel.bitcall.io

  • Some balance in your account (not required to create the SIP, but needed to make calls)

  • Your trusted IP (if using IP auth)

🗂️ Step 1: Go to SIP Account Section

From your Bitcall dashboard sidebar, click:

VoIP Services → SIP Accounts

You’ll see a list of your existing SIPs (probably empty if this is your first one).

🛠️ Step 2: Choose Your Authentication Method

You can create a SIP account with:

✅ Option 1: SIP Credentials (Username + Password)

This is best if you plan to use softphones like Zoiper, Linphone, Bria, etc.

Field

Example

Notes

Username

john123

This becomes your SIP username

Password

********

Use a strong one!

Allowed IP

Leave empty

Optional – used for extra restriction

✅ Option 2: IP Authentication (No password needed)

Make sure you dd your IP to the IP authentication in the dashboard

This is used for PBX or server setups, like Asterisk or FreeSWITCH.

Field

Example

Notes

Username

reseller-trunk-1

Just an identifier

Allowed IP

102.47.85.13

Your server or device’s public IP

Password

Leave empty

Not used in IP Auth mode

⚠️ Important: If you use IP authentication, make sure the IP is public and static.

🌐 Step 3: Save and Note Your SIP Info

Once created, you’ll see your SIP info like this:

SIP Username: your-user-name SIP Password: ********** SIP Domain: gateway.bitcall.io Port: 5060 Transport: UDP (default) | TCP, TLS supported
;; Example SIP config username: johndemo password: S3cretP@ss domain: gateway.bitcall.io port: 5060 transport: UDP

🔒 Notes on SIP Security

  • Don’t share your SIP credentials unless necessary

  • For IP auth, whitelist only the IP you trust

  • You can always edit, disable, or delete a SIP from the same dashboard

🧠 TL;DR Recap

✅ Navigate to "SIP Accounts" ✅ Choose IP Auth or SIP Credentials ✅ Fill in username, password or IP ✅ Save and get your SIP ready ✅ Use it in any softphone, app, or PBX system!
